The Rochford Review SEND Impact Conference and Lunch
Here’s an excellent reason to find your way down to the TESSEN show in Islington this October. The DfE has just issued its response to the Rochford consultation. So now is the ideal time to find out what this means for your school.
We’re hosting an exclusive Earwig and Department of Education conference and lunch at 12pm on Friday 6th October on the roof terrace at Vivo – a fine Italian restaurant, right next door to the TESSEN expo at The Business Design Centre. Very convenient.
You will be able to listen to a presentation from …
The Department of Education Assessment Policy Adviser
and discuss the government’s response to the Rochford recommendations and the impact this will have on special needs assessment nationwide.
Then we’ll examine the three most contentious issues:
- Individualised assessment schemes
- EHCP based frameworks
- Measuring engagement as well as achievement
We’ll see if we can arrive at the ideal suite of assessment frameworks to cover the whole SEND spectrum of disability and work out how this can be implemented as efficiently as possible using the Earwig software. Bring your opinions.
After that, you’ll need a decent lunch, rounded off with a well-deserved glass of wine!
12pm: Andrew Hackett “DfE’s Rochford Review Response”
For non-Earwig schools the conference costs £150 (£75 if you book before 30th September) but for Heads, Deputies and senior SENCOs at Earwig schools, it’s free.
