Thursday 27^th June 2023 held the second Earwig Ambassador’s Conference and it was just as well received as the first ambassador’s conference in 2022.

Held at the Garstang Hotel just north of Preston, it was aimed at giving our northern schools an easier journey than last summer’s conference which was held in Surrey. However it seemed our Earwig Ambassadors were happy to travel and we welcomed delegates from Exeter, Wales and even the south coast of Sussex, including as far north as Newcastle!

After coffee and introductions there were presentations from Peter, Roland and Alex on new developments to the Earwig software, and then an in depth discussion amongst the group about how schools were using Earwig, requests for additional features and sharing knowledge of assessment pedagogy. The feedback was that this was all extremely useful, not only the information from Earwig but also the opportunity to meet fellow Earwig Ambassadors and to share ideas.

Once the hard work was over and the CPD certificates had been earned, it was time for some team building fun. Four delegates joined Peter and Steve on the golf course in the glorious sunshine, whilst Alex, Emilie-Kate and Roland took everyone else down to the beautiful Goosenargh Gin Distillery for a talk and a tasting of their exceptional gins.

Everyone enjoyed a three course dinner with plenty of drinks back at the hotel, and there were rumours that the bar was still being propped up at 3am.

Since these conferences are so popular, we intend to host a few smaller events over the school year as well as the annual conference next summer.
