Preparing for Inspection of SEND Provision Conference 2022
We are pleased to announce that we will be presenting at the online Preparing for Inspection of SEND Provision Conference 2022 on 7th December 2022. This CPD certified, day long, online conference is open to all educators and focuses on how to prepare for an Ofsted inspection if you are a special school.
Preparing for Inspection of SEND Provision
Ofsted are clear – outstanding schools must be inclusive schools. To achieve an outstanding Ofsted rating schools must demonstrate that children and young people with SEND achieve exceptionally well. As part of this you must be able to demonstrate that all pupils with SEND have access to the same, ambitious and broad curriculum.
All schools and further education providers will be inspected by Ofsted before the summer term 2025. This will give a clear picture on how well schools are recovering from the pandemic, and will also give insight into how well children and young people with SEND are performing under the new framework
With proposed changes following the SEND review and a new local area SEND inspection framework to be introduced from 2023, your SEND provision will be under scrutiny in the coming academic year.
The conference will help you …
- Ensure you are up to date with the current inspection framework and how your SEND provision will be inspected
- Anticipate what inspectors are looking for when considering the achievements of pupils with SEND
- Understand how your curriculum design will be inspected
- Audit your curriculum to ensure that it is broad and ambitious
- Be prepared for how SEND provision will be judged under each judgement area
- Prepare the relevant and necessary data to demonstrate impact for your pupils
- Understand how Ofsted will inspect the safeguarding arrangements for pupils with SEND to ensure they take account of additional vulnerabilities
- Stay on top of proposed changes to local area SEND inspections
