How stressed are your staff?
It’s Mental Health Awareness week and so a good time to be aware of your staff’s workload and the stress they are experiencing.
In 2020, the DfE highlighted the importance of managing teacher workload (actually recommending Earwig by name, as a tool to ease the admin) and keeping an eye on their stress levels. Some schools have brought in yoga, mindfulness or improved the ‘feng shui’ in the staffroom, others have offered counselling or nominated staff someone to talk to within the school about how they’re coping.
They have also added a new question in the Ofsted inspection framework, to find out how you’re managing staff stress, so it’s a question you need to be able to answer.
We are interested in what your school is doing and whether you would find a free Staff Wellness measurement tool a useful addition to your Earwig package. It would enable you to assess and track the stress levels of your staff, with the intention of reducing stress based sick leave, staff turnover, satisfying Ofsted and of course making the whole school a happier more relaxed place to be.
Please just take a moment to email ekkidd@earwigacademic.com with a sentence or two about what your school is already doing to manage staff stress and whether a Staff Wellness framework would be helpful to you.
